Joe Biden encourages "Lock Him Up" chants about Donald Trump at North Carolina rally.

President Joe Biden has once again stooped to a new low in his campaign rhetoric. During a rally in North Carolina on Friday, Biden encouraged a crowd who was chanting "Lock Him Up" in reference to former President Donald Trump.

The crowd repeatedly chanted "Lock Him Up!" while Biden responded, "There's time for that." This comes after a dismal performance from Biden during the recent presidential debate.

Biden has been critical of Trump for saying that he will have "retribution" when he becomes president. However, Biden's comments at the rally strike a tone similar to what Trump has been accused of.

During the New York City trial of Trump, the Biden camp brought in anti-Trumper actor Robert De Niro for a presser where he said that Trump wants to destroy the country. Biden campaign communications director Michael Tyler added that they were holding the presser near the Trump trial to talk to people about "the threat that Donald Trump poses to the United States of America and to our democracy."

Biden's encouragement of the calls to lock Trump up at the rally, the presser with De Niro, as well as other instances of the Biden camp may appear to come in conflict with Biden's criticisms of Trump’s rhetoric on retribution.

It is concerning that Biden is encouraging such divisive and hateful rhetoric. As a leader, he should be promoting unity and respect for all Americans, regardless of their political beliefs.

In other news, a recent poll by The Washington Post and the Schar School of Policy and Government at George Mason University found that Trump is trusted more than Biden on democracy among key swing-state voters.

The poll surveyed the views of 3,513 registered voters in Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Nevada, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin in April and May. Of those surveyed, 2,255 were classified as "Deciders" — those who fit into one or more categories: They voted in only one of the past two presidential elections; are between ages 18 and 25; registered to vote since 2022; did not definitely plan to vote for either Biden or Trump this year; or switched their support between 2016 and 2020.

The poll found that more than half of Deciders believe that Trump will not accept the results of the election if he loses, compared with one-third who say the same for Biden. Nearly half, 47 percent, say Trump would try to rule as a dictator if he is elected to another term as president, compared with 15 percent who say Biden would.

This poll highlights the importance of democracy in the upcoming election. It is crucial that voters choose a candidate who will uphold the values of democracy and respect the will of the people.

In related news, journalists have detailed disturbing tracker-like tactics from Biden staffers during Kamala Harris' Nevada rally.

Two journalists, one from the New York Times and another from the Las Vegas Journal-Review, reported that several campaign staffers actually followed them around to listen to what those being interviewed were telling them. If the attendee said anything negative about Biden, the staffer would try to cut the interview short.

This behavior is unacceptable and goes against the principles of free speech and freedom of the press. It is important that journalists are able to do their jobs without interference from campaign staffers.

The Biden campaign needs to address this issue and ensure that their staffers are not engaging in such behavior. It is crucial that the American people have access to accurate and unbiased information in order to make informed decisions in the upcoming election.
