A group of House Republicans led by Rep. Anna Paulina Luna from Florida is pushing for former President Trump to receive the Congressional Gold Medal for his exceptional leadership and efforts in strengthening America's diplomatic relations during his presidency. The resolution is supported by six House Republicans, including House GOP Deputy Whip Guy Reschenthaler, Reps. Lauren Boebert, Andy Ogles, Randy Weber, and Mike Waltz.

Luna emphasized Trump's fearless leadership in restoring America's global power and establishing peace through bold diplomacy. Despite criticisms from the liberal media, Luna believes that America and the world were safer under President Trump's tenure. The resolution is also co-sponsored by House Freedom Caucus Chairman Bob Good, who has shown strong support for Trump even after endorsing Florida Governor Ron DeSantis for president initially.

Ogles praised Trump's contributions to American heritage and defense of the American way of life, while Weber asserted that the country was better off under Trump's leadership four years ago. Although it is unlikely that the Democrat-controlled Senate will pass the bill, it signifies Trump's continued influence as the de facto leader of the GOP.

The Congressional Gold Medal, along with the Presidential Medal of Freedom, is regarded as the highest civilian award in the United States.
