Study Shows Conservative Women Happier Than Liberal Peers

Young conservative women are thriving at remarkably higher rates than their liberal counterparts, according to a recent study that sheds light on the importance of family and faith in achieving happiness.

The research, conducted by the Institute for Family Studies, reveals that 37% of conservative women between the ages of 18 and 40 rate themselves as “completely satisfied” with their lives. In stark contrast, only 12% of liberal women report the same level of life satisfaction.

What sets conservative women apart? The study indicates that two primary factors stand out: marriage and regular church attendance. Conservative women in this age group are married at rates significantly higher than their liberal peers, with 51% of conservatives married compared to less than a third of liberals.

Furthermore, these conservative women are actively engaged in their faith, with 55% attending church weekly. This participation not only fosters a sense of community but also reinforces the values that contribute to their overall happiness—values that appear less prevalent in liberal circles.

Interestingly, liberal women experience higher rates of loneliness; 29% report feeling lonely a few times a week or more, compared to only 11% of conservative women. The study highlights how a lack of commitment to core American institutions—marriage and religion—leads to a substantial loneliness gap between the two ideological groups.

The analysts suggest that this ideological divide is rooted not just in negative thinking but also in the estrangement of liberal young women from the very institutions that provide meaning and solidarity in life.

The conclusions of this study align with a broader trend observed across various surveys that link happiness and life satisfaction with marriage and family life. A Gallup poll found that married adults aged 25 to 50 are significantly more likely to report feeling “thriving” compared to their unmarried peers, with the gap remaining consistent over recent years.

As the landscape of American life continues to evolve, these findings send a powerful message about the enduring relevance of traditional values in fostering happiness and fulfillment. The contrast between the happiness levels of conservative and liberal women serves as a poignant reminder of the importance of family and faith in today’s society.

In these turbulent times, the commitment to core values appears to be a beacon of stability and joy for those who embrace them. As conservative leadership seeks to strengthen family and community ties, the message resonates more than ever: a return to traditional values may well be the antidote to the widespread discontent often echoed in today’s discourse.
