**Paralyzed Leadership: Victor Davis Hanson Slams Europe's Inability to Reform**

In a scathing critique this weekend, Hoover Institution Senior Fellow Victor Davis Hanson unleashed a powerful indictment against the European Union (EU) during his appearance on Newsmax.

During a segment on "Rob Schmitt Tonight," Hanson compared the EU’s leadership to that of the divisive Democratic Representative Maxine Waters, highlighting their collective impotence in resolving pressing crises.

This commentary follows remarks by Vice President JD Vance at the Munich Security Conference, where he condemned European leaders for their "conscious decisions" that have led to mass migration issues, sparking violence including a recent car attack in Munich.

Hanson expressed agreement with Vance, asserting that stricter immigration laws could fortify against such tragedies.

“If the EU were prudent, they would embrace the constructive changes seen in President Donald Trump’s America,” said Hanson. He emphasized that the EU's paralysis is emblematic of a refusal to adapt and adopt necessary reforms.

According to Hanson, the EU has missed an opportunity to align with the successful policies reflected in Trump’s MAGA movement, which he argues is “not only saving the United States, it’s saving the West.”

Hanson lamented that European leaders are aware of the solutions — closing borders, deregulating economies, and fostering free speech — yet remain resistant to change.

"They know what they have to do, but they can't do it," he stated, emphasizing a wider stagnation hampered by entrenched leftist ideologies.

The EU’s economic performance pales compared to that of the U.S., with its GDP having fallen to merely 60% of America’s since 1999, according to Hanson. He warned that failing to take corrective measures will further decline their global competitiveness.

In stark contrast, he posited that under Republican leadership, America is poised for revitalization. Vance reinforced this belief by prophesizing a shift in policy direction with Trump now back in office.

“There’s a new sheriff in town,” Vance stated, alluding to Trump’s combative stance against international elites who exploit America.

Hanson’s remarks resonate in a climate where bold leadership and decisive action are increasingly necessary to address international crises and protect national sovereignty.

With the specter of mass migration looming large over Europe, one thing is clear: the time for reform is now, and the EU would do well to heed the lessons drawn from the successes of America under Trump.
