Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton has achieved a significant legal victory against the Biden administration's controversial immigration policies.

A federal judge has issued a permanent injunction against the Biden-Harris administration's "Parole in Place" policy, which sought to provide a pathway to citizenship for over one million illegal immigrants.

This ruling comes after Paxton led a coalition of 16 states, alongside legal representatives from America First Legal, to challenge the policy enacted by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS).

The court found that DHS lacked the statutory authority to grant "parole in place" to individuals unlawfully present in the United States, asserting that such actions run counter to established immigration laws.

Paxton expressed his resolve in addressing what he called the "radical attempts" of the current administration to undermine America's sovereignty and legal framework.

“This unlawful parole scheme would have rewarded over a million illegal aliens and encouraged millions more to break into our country," Paxton stated.

He further emphasized the importance of maintaining the integrity of U.S. immigration laws and declared, "I look forward to the day when the federal government starts following the law again."

Gene Hamilton, Executive Director of America First Legal, supported Paxton's sentiments, condemning the Biden administration for its ongoing efforts to weaken the immigration system.

Hamilton noted, “The States stood up. And today, the great State of Texas and the courageous Ken Paxton succeeded in stopping an illegal program that would have provided amnesty to hundreds of thousands of illegal aliens.”

As the Biden administration faces yet another legal setback, the ruling highlights the broader implications for immigration policy heading into a new political era.

With Donald Trump preparing to assume the presidency once again, this victory could signal an impending shift toward stricter immigration enforcement, reflecting the sentiments of many American voters frustrated with current policies.

The battle over immigration is far from over, but with leaders like Paxton at the forefront, there appears to be a renewed commitment to upholding the rule of law and protecting the nation's borders.
