**Chaos**

A shocking revelation from former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has ignited fears among many that Democrats are prioritizing illegal immigrants in a way that undermines American citizens.

In a recent appearance on HBO's "Real Time" with Bill Maher, Pelosi discussed California’s controversial legislation that would provide illegal immigrants with up to $150,000 in taxpayer-funded assistance to buy homes. Although Governor Gavin Newsom ultimately vetoed the bill due to concerns over state budgetary constraints, Pelosi's comments have raised alarms about the priorities of the Democratic Party.

During the interview, Maher expressed disbelief over the implications of the bill, noting that it would provide aid to undocumented immigrants at a time when California faces a profound housing crisis. In response, Pelosi defended the initiative, asserting that the American dream should be accessible to all, including illegal aliens.

Pelosi’s assertion of a "bipartisan" commitment to assisting undocumented immigrants is particularly concerning. While she cited President Ronald Reagan’s vision of America as a "beacon of hope," she conveniently ignored that Reagan would never have supported direct financial assistance for those who entered the country illegally.

Critics have echoed that sentiment. California Assembly Republican Leader James Gallagher was quick to point out that such a bill would only exacerbate the border and housing crises. "I didn’t know it was possible to make the border crisis and the housing crisis worse with just one vote, but Democrats found a way," Gallagher said, highlighting the disconnect between the party's proposals and the needs of Californians who are already struggling.

Republican leaders are right to scrutinize the motivations behind this push for economic support to illegal migrants. The overwhelming majority of Californians, who are grappling with rising living costs amid a severe housing shortage, deserve better than a political agenda that prioritizes non-citizens over struggling families.

"The California Democrats are passing extreme housing policies that are a complete slap in the face to the 86 percent of Californians who can’t afford to purchase a home in the state," said Jessica Millan Patterson, chairwoman of the California Republican Party. Californians have every reason to be outraged over legislation that seems more designed to create a political electorate among illegal immigrants than to solve pressing issues like homelessness and crime.

As the fallout from Pelosi's comments continues, it is evident that the Democratic Party remains out of touch with everyday Americans. Their dedication to a radical immigration policy threatens to further divide a nation desperate for commonsense solutions.
