**Outrage as UC Berkeley Funds Anti-Israel Groups While Ignoring Jewish Student Rights**

In a shocking revelation, the University of California, Berkeley's student government has allocated over $8,000 to anti-Israel groups, raising serious concerns about the institution’s commitment to free speech and the rights of Jewish students.

Documents obtained by Campus Reform reveal that the Associated Students of the University of California (ASUC) granted significant funding to organizations openly hostile to Israel, including $6,500 to Bears for Palestine and an additional $1,631.22 to Graduate Students for Palestine.

Bears for Palestine has been embroiled in controversy for its role in inciting violence during a protest against a pro-Israel speaker earlier this year.

In February, the group organized a tumultuous demonstration that resulted in the cancellation of an event featuring a former member of the Israel Defense Forces.

Their inflammatory rhetoric, which referred to pro-Israel figures as “genocidal murderers,” has raised alarms about the safety and well-being of Jewish students on campus.

These actions from pro-Palestinian groups signal a troubling trend in higher education, where radical leftist agendas seem to prevail at the expense of open dialogue.

In light of this situation, the Berkeley College Republicans have condemned the funding of such organizations, stating they embody a “repugnant ideology.”

They argue that the ASUC’s funding decisions stem from a broader trend of radical leftism overtaking campus discourse, undermining the rights of those who support Israel and silencing dissent.

This situation poses a critical question regarding the responsibilities of institutions of higher learning to uphold non-discrimination commitments, especially given that UC Berkeley receives significant federal funding.

Attorney Marc Greendorfer, founder of the Zachor Legal Institute, asserted that the university’s actions violate federal non-discrimination obligations.

The outcry over these developments serves as a wake-up call for all who value free speech and the importance of protecting diverse viewpoints.

As Americans reflect on the state of free expression in their institutions, it’s essential to recognize the implications of such funding decisions and the need for a balanced discourse on sensitive geopolitical issues.

While universities should indeed foster a marketplace of ideas, it becomes increasingly crucial to ensure that all students feel safe and heard, irrespective of their beliefs.
