Kamala's Contradictions: Criminal Justice Hypocrisy and Border Failure

Vice President Kamala Harris' past resurfaces, revealing her mockery of progressives and her ever-changing beliefs.

In a 2013 talk during the Chicago Ideas Week, then-Attorney General of California Kamala Harris spoke on approaches to criminal justice and mocked progressives and liberals for their unrealistic beliefs on an actual justice system.

Harris, who is now the presumptive Democratic nominee for president, said with "all love and warmth" that progressives and liberals have posters in their closets that read "build more schools, less jails." She then pranced around the stage mocking left-leaning protesters.

Harris continued by saying that there is a fundamental problem with that approach and that crime does occur, especially when it is violent or serious. She argued that there should be a broad consensus that there should be serious, severe, and swift consequences to crime.

However, Harris' beliefs on criminal justice have changed drastically over the years. In 2020, she actively contributed to a fund dedicated to springing suspected criminals from jail. Many of the violent "social justice protesters" who sprang up after the death of George Floyd benefited from the Minnesota Freedom Fund, with at least one of the suspects allegedly using the freedom to commit murder.

Harris' inconsistency on criminal justice is not the only issue that has come to light. She has also been criticized for her handling of the border crisis as the Biden administration's "Border Czar." Despite being declared the administration's czar over the border crisis, Harris has failed to make any progress in handling the ongoing disaster.

Former Border Patrol Chief Raul Ortiz, shortly after his 2023 retirement, revealed that he never heard from either Biden or Harris. Ortiz said that he never had one conversation with the president or the vice president for that matter, despite commanding 21,000 people.

Harris' failure to address the border crisis and her inconsistency on criminal justice are just two examples of her inability to lead. As the presumptive Democratic nominee for president, Harris will have to answer for her past actions and beliefs. Her chances in November could largely be determined by which of her multitude of political beliefs she chooses to embrace.
