Carnegie Mellon University professor suggests Trump assassination attempt was staged

A professor at Carnegie Mellon University has sparked controversy by suggesting that the recent assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump was staged.

Uju Anya, an associate professor of second language acquisition at Carnegie Mellon University, took to social media to express her views on the incident. She claimed that the shooting was "staged" and compared it to a "stupid Tubi movie set in the Bronx with palm trees in the background."

Anya, who considers herself an "antiracist" and a "feminist," also suggested that the attack was a "farce" and that "people died behind this farce." She went on to say that "they lie, and people die" and that "whatever 'attack' on him they set up to stoke his followers' fears and sentiments, threat and persecution has now cost lives."

Trump was grazed by a bullet at his Pennsylvania rally on Saturday, and an attendee, Corey Comperatore, was killed. The gunman was taken down by Trump's Secret Service team.

Anya's comments have been met with criticism from some quarters, with some accusing her of spreading conspiracy theories. However, others have defended her right to express her views, even if they are controversial.

Carnegie Mellon University has not yet commented on the matter.

This is not the first time that Anya has courted controversy. She has previously been criticized for her views on race and gender, and has been accused of promoting "identity politics."

Despite the controversy surrounding her comments, Anya remains a respected academic and author. She has written two books, "Racialized identities in second language learning" and "Racial equity on college campuses."

The incident highlights the ongoing debate about the role of academics in society and the limits of free speech. While some argue that academics should be free to express their views, even if they are controversial, others believe that they have a responsibility to promote truth and accuracy.

As the investigation into the assassination attempt continues, it remains to be seen whether Anya's claims will be substantiated. In the meantime, her comments have sparked a heated debate about the nature of truth and the role of academics in society.
