Former Trump advisor Peter Navarro delivers defiant speech at RNC, just hours after leaving prison.

In a show of defiance, former White House advisor Peter Navarro addressed the Republican National Convention on Wednesday, just hours after being released from prison. Navarro, who served as the director of the United States Office of Trade and Manufacturing Policy during the Trump administration, was recently released after serving a four-month sentence for contempt of Congress.

Navarro opened his speech with a joke about getting a "MAGA tattoo" while in prison, before delivering a message of caution to the audience. "If they can come for me, if they can come for Donald Trump, be careful. They will come for you," he warned.

Navarro went on to recount his conviction and legal proceedings, claiming that the government had stripped him of every possible defense and thrown him to the "wolves of an anti-Trump jury." He warned that the government could come after everyday Americans, citing examples of Catholics, pro-life activists, and parents who have been targeted for standing up for their beliefs.

"In Trump's America, you didn't have to worry about being locked up for disagreeing with the government," Navarro declared. "I went to prison so you won't have to."

Navarro's speech was met with roaring applause from the RNC audience, who cheered him on as he brought his fiancé on stage and praised her for staying by his side. The former Trump advisor's defiant message was a clear indication of the ongoing battle between the Republican party and the Democratic-led government.

Navarro's speech came on the same day that JD Vance accepted the vice-presidential nomination at the RNC, and just hours before Donald Trump was set to close out the convention. The former president has been a vocal supporter of Navarro, and his appearance at the RNC was seen as a show of solidarity with the former advisor.

As the 2024 election approaches, it remains to be seen how Navarro's defiant message will resonate with voters. However, one thing is clear: the battle between the Republican party and the Democratic-led government is far from over.
