Prominent Silicon Valley investors Marc Andreessen and Ben Horowitz are reportedly planning to make significant donations to political action committees supporting Donald Trump's campaign for president, according to CNBC.

The founders of venture capital firm Andreessen Horowitz, which has backed companies such as OpenAI, Facebook, Airbnb, Anduril, Box, DoorDash and GitHub, have not made formal endorsements ahead of the 2024 election. However, Andreessen has been critical of what he views as Silicon Valley's left-leaning tendencies.

The expected donations are based on Trump's planned tech agenda, which has attracted support from other tech leaders such as Palantir co-founder Joe Lonsdale and crypto billionaires Cameron and Tyler Winklevoss. Tesla CEO Elon Musk has also reportedly said he is planning to pledge about $45 million a month to a pro-Trump super PAC.

Andreessen and Horowitz join a growing list of tech leaders who have donated to support Trump's campaign. Venture capitalist David Sacks, who spoke at the opening night of the Republican National Convention, co-hosted a fundraiser for Trump in San Francisco.

The move by Andreessen and Horowitz is significant as it highlights the growing support for Trump within the tech industry, which has traditionally been seen as a bastion of liberal politics. The donations also underscore the importance of the tech sector in Trump's campaign, as he seeks to appeal to voters who are concerned about issues such as data privacy and the impact of technology on jobs.

Trump's tech agenda includes proposals to reduce regulations on the tech industry, promote innovation, and invest in infrastructure to support the growth of the digital economy. He has also pledged to take a tough stance on China, which has been accused of stealing intellectual property from American companies.
