If you were in the city of Bursa, Turkey on Thursday, you might have seen something pretty out of this world. A massive lenticular cloud resembling a UFO was spotted over the city, surprising citizens who were able to capture the rare phenomenon on their phones.
But what exactly is a lenticular cloud? These clouds are known for their curved, flying saucer-like appearance, and are usually found at heights of between 2,000 and 5,000 meters. This particular cloud was almost circular in shape and had a large hole in the middle, remaining intact for about an hour.
It's worth noting that these types of clouds aren't actually UFOs, but rather a natural meteorological occurrence caused by the movement of air over mountains or other obstacles. So, while it may have looked like something straight out of a sci-fi movie, it's just Mother Nature doing her thing.
