GOP Congressmembers consider subpoenaing Nancy Pelosi after midterms, citing new 'precedent' set by January 6 panel

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and several other top Democrats in the U. S. House of Representatives will be served with subpoenas by House Republicans should the GOP prevail in retaking the House in the upcoming midterm elections.

CNN reported that several “rank-and-file” Republicans, are likely to become committee chairmen and members of party leadership after midterms. According to some Congressional Republicans, the January 6 panel selectively subpoenaing House GOP Leader Kevin McCarthy and other members of the Republican caucus has created a new standard that Republicans may choose to replicate upon retaking control of the House.

Republican Reps. Jim Jordan of Ohio, Mo Brooks of Alabama, Andy Biggs of Arizona, and Scott Perry of Pennsylvania have been subpoenaed along with McCarthy.

At the top of the list is House Speaker Nancy Pelosi. Reportedly, Republicans plan to target the House Speaker’s communications regarding security manners in the run-up to January 6, 2021, and the incidents occurring at the Capitol on that day.
