Stunning new details emerge in attempted attack on former President Trump's rally in Butler, PA.

According to a local law enforcement officer with direct knowledge, three Secret Service snipers were stationed inside the building where the shooter, identified as Timothy Louis Crooks, was located.

One of the snipers noticed Crooks outside, observing the building and then disappearing.

Crooks returned, sat down, and began looking at his phone. At this point, one of the snipers took a picture of him.

Crooks then took out a range finder, prompting the sniper to radio the command post. Crooks disappeared again and returned with a backpack.

The snipers reported that Crooks had a backpack and was walking towards the back of the building.

Officers believe that Crooks may have used an air conditioning unit to gain access to the roof.

By the time backup arrived, Crooks had already climbed onto the roof and was positioned behind the snipers inside the building.

Two other officers attempted to reach the roof, but a Secret Service sniper had already neutralized Crooks.

According to the law enforcement officer, Crooks had an improvised explosive device (IED) in his pocket, in addition to the explosive materials found in his car.

Questions remain as to how this incident was able to occur, despite multiple law enforcement officers having eyes on the shooter and reporting his behavior.

This incident highlights the ongoing need for vigilance and security at political events, particularly those involving high-profile figures such as former President Trump.

It also underscores the importance of the Secret Service and their role in protecting our nation's leaders.

This story is still developing and we will provide updates as more information becomes available.
