Breaking News: Ramaswamy Calls for Debate on Future of Administrative Bureaucracy at RNC

At the Republican National Convention on Monday, former GOP presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy addressed the press and shared his thoughts on the attempted assassination of former President Donald Trump on Saturday.

When asked about the future of the Secret Service, Ramaswamy called for healthy debate within the Republican Party and the conservative movement on the broader issue of the overgrowth of an administrative bureaucracy.

"The question ahead for the Republican Party and the conservative movement is, ‘Do we want to replace the left wing nanny state with the right wing nanny state? Or do we want to dismantle the nanny state?’" Ramaswamy said.

He stressed the importance of civil dialogue as necessary for reaching a consensus on these significant questions facing the Republican Party.

"I come down on the side, as you all know, of dismantling that administrative bureaucracy and shutting it down. But, I think that the more healthy, respectful debate we have both within and beyond the party on that question, the better off we’ll be," Ramaswamy concluded.

This comes as the Biden administration continues to face criticism from Republicans for its handling of various issues, including immigration, inflation, and crime.

Ramaswamy's comments echo the sentiments of many conservatives who believe that the federal government has become too large and intrusive in the lives of Americans.

The former presidential candidate's call for debate on this issue is likely to resonate with many in the Republican Party, who have long advocated for limited government and individual freedom.

As the 2024 election approaches, it remains to be seen how this issue will play out on the national stage. But one thing is clear: the debate over the future of administrative bureaucracy is far from over.
