Former President Donald Trump made a surprise appearance at UFC 299 in Miami on Saturday night, just hours after speaking to a crowd of supporters in Rome, Georgia. Trump, who has a history of attending UFC events, was joined by organization founder Dana White and was greeted with applause from fans.

During his appearance, Trump was seen speaking with Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy, who previously supported Trump but has recently backed Nikki Haley's failed presidential campaign. Former ESPN host Sage Steele, who has been critical of trans athletes in women's sports and ESPN's COVID-19 vaccination mandate, was also seen speaking with the former President.

White has been a vocal supporter of Trump and has previously gotten into arguments with sponsors over social media posts involving the former President. In an interview with comedian Theo Von, White said that he has no interest in working with those who do not align with his political beliefs.

Trump has yet to be embraced by Joe Rogan, the actor and comedian who now splits his time between a popular podcast and UFC color commentating duties. Rogan has previously stated that he is not a Trump supporter and has no interest in having him on his show.

Despite this, Trump has continued to praise the UFC and its leadership. At a rally in Rome, Georgia, Trump compared the UFC's election process to that of the country, stating that UFC fights are "reflective of the election process that we have in this country." He also praised White for doing a "fantastic job" with the organization.
