Billionaire entrepreneur Elon Musk announced that he will not be donating to either President Joe Biden or former President Donald Trump after meeting with Trump recently. Musk, the owner of Tesla, SpaceX, and social media platform X, has been critical of the Biden administration, particularly regarding its handling of the illegal immigration crisis. According to The New York Times, Musk met with Trump in Palm Beach, Florida, as the former president's campaign seeks support and financing for the upcoming election.

Although the details of their conversation were not disclosed, Musk clarified on X that he will not be financially supporting either candidate for the 2024 presidential election. Musk, who previously served on Trump's advisory councils but later stepped down due to disagreements on climate change policies, has been vocal about his support for legal immigration while expressing concerns about unvetted individuals entering the country.

Recently, Musk has shifted his criticisms towards Biden's immigration policies, questioning the administration's approach to granting citizenship to illegal immigrants. Despite previously voting for Democrats, Musk stated his intention to vote Republican in the 2022 midterm elections but has not made any endorsements for the 2024 presidential race.

Furthermore, Musk reinstated Trump's account on X after the former president was suspended following the January 6, 2021 Capitol riot. This decision came after a poll conducted by Musk on whether Trump should be allowed back on the platform received significant support for reinstatement.
