In a recent GOP caucuses in North Dakota, Former President Donald Trump emerged victorious over former U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley, as reported by NBC News. This win adds to Trump's momentum as he continues on the path towards securing the Republican presidential nomination.

The North Dakota contest served as a crucial precursor to Super Tuesday, the day with the highest number of delegates up for grabs in the 2024 presidential nominating calendar. While Haley has only secured one GOP nominating contest victory in Washington, D.C., she has managed to gather delegates from other early voting states.

If Trump manages to secure at least 60% of the statewide vote in North Dakota, he will claim all 29 of the state's GOP delegates. However, if he falls short of this threshold, the delegates will be distributed proportionally between him and Haley based on the final statewide vote count.

Moving forward, a significant portion of delegates - 865, representing 36% of all delegates in the race - will be at stake in more than a dozen states on Tuesday. The ultimate goal for the candidates is to secure the majority of the party's delegates, with 1,215 out of a total of 2,429 delegates, before the Republican National Convention scheduled for the summer.
