A huge earthquake with a magnitude of 7.8 hit southern Turkey early Monday and was felt in other countries like Syria, Jordan, and Israel.
According to the US Geological Survey, the quake started in Gaziantep, which is a big city in Turkey’s southeast. The earthquake was about 11 miles deep. Another big earthquake with a magnitude of 6.7 happened about 10 minutes later.
Right now, it’s not clear how much damage has been done or if there are any injuries or deaths.
