Father John Hollowell, a priest in Indiana, claims to have been cured of a brain tumor after a pilgrimage to Lourdes, France in June 2022. He was diagnosed with the tumor in February 2020 and underwent surgery, chemotherapy, and radiation to treat it. Despite extensive treatments, the tumor continued to grow and a new tumor was found on his pituitary gland. However, after returning from Lourdes, Hollowell immediately noticed physical changes, including improved cognitive ability, and after an MRI in November 2022, he was told that his tumor may never grow back. He made the pilgrimage to Lourdes while offering up his suffering during treatment for victims of Catholic clergy sexual abuse. Approximately 170 survivors of the abuse reached out to him, and he took their names with him to the surgery.
