The fabricated audio suggested that Trump Jr. criticized Ukraine and advocated for the U.S. to provide arms to Russia during the ongoing conflict. According to the bogus recording, he allegedly claimed, "I honestly can’t imagine anyone in their right mind picking Ukraine as an ally. Honestly, the US should have been sending weapons to Russia."
After facing an avalanche of criticism and being called out for deception, both the DNC account and the "Republicans Against Trump" account that shared the clip hastily deleted their posts.
Trump Jr. himself responded, highlighting the absurdity of the situation by retweeting Republican strategist Andrew Surabian, who noted, "This is 100% fake AI generated audio, but I’m sure that won’t stop anti-Trump resistance accounts from continuing to dishonestly spread it."
GOP Majority Whip Tom Emmer also condemned the DNC's actions, sharing a screenshot of the now-removed post and declaring, "The Democrats continue to find ways to reach new lows."
