Are you concerned about the national security risks that come with TikTok's presence and influence? Washington Post columnist Josh Rogin recently appeared on "One Nation with Brian Kilmeade" and shared his opinion on whether President Biden will push for a TikTok ban. During a congressional hearing, lawmakers expressed concerns about spying, surveillance, and data manipulation by the Chinese Communist Party, which led to further calls for a ban on the app.

Rogin said that there is a bipartisan consensus that TikTok is a threat to national security. The Chinese-owned social media company has the potential to collect Americans' data and make it vulnerable to exploitation by the CCP. Not only is TikTok a way for China to invade Americans' privacy, but it is also an avenue for the CCP to insert its influence into our information space via the phones of our children.

While some lawmakers have called for a ban on TikTok, Rogin is skeptical that the Biden administration will fight the legal battles that would likely ensue. Rogin argues that the issue of TikTok is just one example of China's strategy to undermine American democracy. It targets U.S. colleges, high schools, and charter schools. The CCP uses "tons and tons of illicit money" to co-opt American institutions, often through donations or sponsoring Chinese centers that are linked back to its government. They also use proxies and Chinese student organizations on campuses to watch over their students and ensure they don't say anything against the CCP.
