PORTLAND, Ore. – Oregon State Police said 11 employees are on paid leave and four others resigned because of Governor Kate Brown’s COVID-19 vaccine mandate for certain groups.
The mandate, which took effect Monday, requires some state employees, healthcare workers, and educators to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 or to get an approved medical or religious exemption.
The 15 OSP employees account for roughly 1% of the state police workforce.
Officials said the eleven unvaccinated workers are members of the Oregon State Police Officer’s Association (OSPOA), which has not yet entered an agreement with the state on the governor's executive order.... (Read more)
