Redskins' Dwayne Haskins throws his support for this name if team decides to change

The Washington Redskins said Friday they would conduct a “thorough review” of its name and consider possibly changing it over racial connotations.

While fans floated ideas about what the name could be, Redskins quarterback Dwayne Haskins promoted his own favorite name out of the dozens that were mentioned on social media.

He then clarified: “That’s if we have to change the name. Now out my mentions.”

Many people who floated the nickname Red Tails have said the team should use it to honor the Tuskegee Airmen. The Tuskegee Airmen were a group of African-American and Caribbean-born fighter pilots who were a part of the U. S. Army Air Forces during World War II. The Tuskegee Airmen were the first African-American military pilots in the U.S. Armed Forces. Their nicknames were the Red Tails.

The name was also among the favorites of fans on social media.
