A Fox News anchor backed President Trump's response to the coronavirus after the May job report far exceeded expectations.
Moments after Trump's address in the Rose Garden on Friday, Fox News contributor Chris Wallace said Trump flipped the script on a negative news cycle that has been critical of the president's decisions during months of government-enforced lockdowns across the country and amid George Floyd protests.
"I think people are going to be a little more cautious about arguing against the president because his optimism — a lot of people thought it was unfounded optimism — looks more solid today," Wallace said. "It really has been a great day for the country. It shows the resilience of the American economy, and it shows the political resilience of Donald Trump."
